Jaguar Land Rover cyberattack

In August-September 2025, Jaguar Land Rover suffered what is considered the most economically damaging cyber incident in UK history, with costs expected to reach 1.9 billion GBP. The Scattered Lapsus$ Hunters group exploited vulnerabilities in third-party supplier software to move laterally into JLR's core systems.

The attack halted production for five weeks. The incident highlighted the critical importance of cybersecurity in the automotive industry. JLR brought in external cybersecurity experts to fully investigate the incident.
